It is a twiggy, deciduous shrub with double-toothed, corrugated foliage. 'Golden Guinea' has golden yellow, globe-shaped flowers that are borne from April through May. The interesting bright green stems stay green all winter. If grown in sun, it does prefer protection from late afternoon sun. Really effective planted around white barked aspen.
