Sedum - Star Dust - Sale Price: $49.95 Sedum Star Dust, Sedum 'Star Dust', is a pale pink budded succulent sedum with grey-green leaves, topped with large, flat, white flower-heads in late summer. Star Dust begins to produce green broccoli-like buds in mid-summer, which gradually open into large clear-white flower heads, later developing a tinge of pink. Star Dust is a valuable late source of nectar for butterflies and bees too. This sedum looks great planted in bold drifts towards the front of a sunny, well-drained border. Seed heads also add some winter interest. It is best to apply a thin layer of compost each spring, followed by a 2-inch layer of mulch to keep soil moist and control weeds. Choose an area where the plant will receive sun to partial shade. Grass - Cabaret Maiden - Sale Price: $28.95 The Grass 'Cabaret' Maiden, Miscanthus sinensis var. conden satus 'Cabaret', is one of the most outstanding new Miscanthus selections! This plant tends to be a bit floppy and graceless in flower, but the foliage effect is grand! This outstanding grass has wide, ribbon-like foliage with a creamy white center and dark green margins. The late season plumes emerge a wonderful coral pink to purple before changing to tan. Its relatively coarse texture can be used to stand it apart from other garden plants with finer foliage. This ornamental grass will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best cleaned up in early spring, before it resumes active growth for the season. Grow in average to moist conditions; do not allow drying out. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. Hosta - Journey's End - Sale Price: $42.75 Hosta Journey's End, Hosta 'Journey's End' (PP#16,895), is an impressive sport of Hosta 'Choo Choo Train' that grows to a whopping 6' wide clump! The large, yellow-gold leaves have ruffled, dark green edges with multiple shades of green.  The oval shape of the slightly textured leaves give this plant added interest.  Its exquisite leaf form and good substance make 'Journey's End' a garden must! Pale lavender, nearly white, tubular flowers bloom in June and July. 'Journey's End' is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions, and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around Hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Plant 'Journey's End' in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring the rich color out; too much sun will burn the leaves.  This is a beautiful upright Hosta plant with great colors. Growing to 36-42 inches tall, 'Coral Reef' is an easy-to-grow native with hundreds of coral-pink flowers. Blooming in midsummer, it is a long-blooming and clean selection.
