Echinacea Secret Romance (Coneflower), Echinacea 'Secret Romance', provides large, delightful, salmon pink double flowers. It is a sturdy, well branched, compact, plant, and one plant can create bouquets of flowers! The flower begins with a bright pink color, and then fades with age to a pleasant salmon color. It is a long lasting flower that attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and is great in cut flower arrangements! The bright, intense flowers of ‘Secret Romance’ are supported on strong stems; best if grouped or massed. This Echinacea will present a season full of daisy-like flowers and is praised for its prolonged blooming after other perennials have faded. Divide clumps when they become overcrowded (about every 4 years.  ‘Secret Romance’ usually reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this procedure will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improves general appearance. Highly fragrant, this coneflower keeps coming all summer on tall plants with excellent branching.  This plant is deer resistant. If you leave some spent blooms on the plants in fall their seeds provide winter food for birds.  You can enjoy the dried seed heads as well, because they will provide architectural interest in the winter. The Yarrow ‘Moonshine’, Achillea 'Moonshine'’, is an upright canary-yellow flower that blooms from June through September. With evergreen foliage in mild winter regions, this non-spreading Achillea is a definite winner. ‘Moonshine’ Yarrow is unlike the common Yarrow, being shorter in height and less invasive. The flower heads are 4” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 24”. ‘Moonshine’ Yarrow is a great addition to a sunny perennial border, planted in pots or combined with ornamental grasses. ‘Moonshine’ can tolerate poor soil conditions, but does best in lean, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil. Sedum (Autumn Stonecrop) Summer Glory, Sedum spurium 'Summer Glory', makes an excellent green groundcover, particularly for hot, dry sites with poor soil. This sedum likes sunny to partially shaded areas of the garden. This variety of sedum forms a low carpet of small, rounded green toothed leaves that develop reddish edges during the cool fall months and it spreads easily to form a thick patch. Clusters of bright carmine pink star flowers appear in midsummer to early fall. A fast grower, it is also a good choice for tubs and mixed containers. Trim stems and dead flower heads back in early spring. Summer Glory forms a habit that is somewhat like Fulda Glow and establishes quickly.
