It will thrive in both sandy and clay soils. Plant this grass in full sun for best results as it does not do well in the shade. Use this grass in areas of high foot traffic and in areas such as highway medians. It will also do well as an accent plant in arid gardens. ‘Hachita’ grass natural height is 4 to 12 inches (with seed heads) and in very good conditions it may grow taller. It is a pretty grass with slender blades and is greenish-gray color. Blue Grama will go dormant quickly in very dry conditions but it will green up quickly after receiving moisture.
