Spiraea - Goldflame
The Spiraea ‘Gold Flame’, Spiraea x bumalda, is a dense, upright, compact, mounded deciduous shrub which typically grows to 2-4' tall, with a similar spread.  The narrow leaves emerge in spring in shades of copper, rust, and yellow, turning to a medium green during summer, and then becoming a brilliant flame color in the fall. Lovely pink flowers bloom profusely in small corymbs and cover the arching stems of this plant in late spring; attracts butterflies. The flowers and leaves all appear on the same side of the arching branches! It has no serious insect or disease problems, and is effective in borders, foundation plantings or hedges. ‘Goldflame’ is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.   Tolerates a wide range of soils and is easy to grow.  This spirea should be pruned in late winter to early spring. The changing color of this spirea adds variety at a time when many plants are losing their luster in the garden.    ‘Goldflame’ has been around long enough so its traits are well known and is often used by landscapers. * Foliage color * Disease resistant * Versatile

Swamp Chestnut Oak - DetailsSwamp Chestnut Oak - Sale Price: $71.35
The Swamp Chestnut Oak tree, Quercus michauxii, is known also as a Basket Oak for the baskets made from its wood, and Cow Oak because cows eat the acorns! One of the important timber trees of the South, it grows on moist and wet loamy soils of bottom lands, along streams and borders of swamps.  The high quality wood is used in all kinds of construction and for implements.  The acorns are sweet and serve as food for wildlife. Swamp Chestnut Oak trees are well-formed and become quite large (80 feet tall) with a narrow crown.  Swamp Chestnut Oak strongly prefers soils that are moist, permanently moist, or permanently wet, and tolerates standing water (as in periodically inundated floodplains) for several weeks at a time. Good seed crops occur at intervals of 3-5 years with poor to fair production in between.  Swamp Chestnut Oak trees are deciduous and have leaves that vary from four to eight inches in length and are downy beneath. Making a good shade tree, Swamp Chestnut Oak also offers rich crimson colors in the fall! * Important timber tree * Produces acorns * Good shade tree

This azalea has a single form that has soft coral pink flowers, dotted with bright fuchsia centers, and blooms profusely throughout the summer and fall months. Having a medium growth rate, this repeat bloomer makes a great foundation plant. Spectacular Spring Fragrant Flowers on a Hardy Shrub The Minuet Lilac (Syringa 'Minuet') is a hardy shrub with outstanding spring flowers that are highly fragrant.  It would look spectacular in your yard planted as a hedge at the side of your house or as a focal point in your landscape. Plant them in rows near your house to enjoy the sweet scent of lilac wafting along on the evening breeze.  There’s nothing quite as breathtaking as the sight of a 5-8 foot tall rounded shrub overflowing with a profusion of soft, warm purple flowers.  The Minuet is an especially prolific lilac, so plan on snipping a few handfuls of the rich lavender panicles to fill your house with the lilac scent of spring each year. In the fall, the forest green foliage will turn a light yellow, adding further color to your autumn landscape. The Minuet actually prefers to be left alone, so a lack of pruning will allow for even more blooms.  It’s easy to care for and hardy in most soils and conditions.  It’s even tolerant of polluted urban settings.   Lilacs have long been considered a symbol of love, and having one in your yard will certainly evoke those warm feelings of home and hearth.  Your landscape won’t feel quite complete until a Lilac graces it. * Spring fragrant flowers* Hardy
