Pomegranate - Ambrosia
Shiny, pale pink, long-lived, purple sweet-tart juice. Ambrosia Pomegranate has the largest fruit of any pomegranate and is similar to the Wonderful Pomegranate. This cerise globe can be three times the size of other varieties, and it has large seeds with dark red, sweet-tart juice. Ambrosia Pomegranate is a good source of antioxidants. The tree is long-lived, self fertile, and tolerates many soils. Pomegranates can survive in an inland or coastal climate. Ambrosia is a very adaptable variety and grows well in cool summer conditions along the Pacific coast, as well as hot summer areas through Zone 8. It requires 150 hours of chilling. It matures in September to early October. Make sure your trees are measured from the ground up! While this may sound a bit sneaky, the sad truth is some nurseries try to make their trees seem taller by including the roots in the height.  You pay for a 4 to 5 foot tree but then you’re upset when it’s barely 3 feet tall after planted. We sell our trees with the height measured from the ground up.  You can be assured when you buy a 4 to 5 foot fruit tree from Nature Hills Nursery, it will be 4 to 5 feet after you plant it.  We take pride in delivering the highest quality plants with healthy roots and full, well-established stems and foliage.  We offer the largest selection on the internet and you can buy in confidence with our one year plant guarantee. Our fruit trees are always in high demand.  Quantities are limited and many will sell out soon.  Order now to avoid disappointment!

Hardy Ornamental with Outstanding Fruit The Wonderful Pomegranate is a hardy ornamental with a fabulous fall harvest.  One would look lovely in your landscape bed, or plant several as a shrub boarder along the house.   Pomegranates grow 8-10 feet tall with an equal spread.  They are most often grown as a shrub, but if you prefer a tree they’re simple enough to prune into a desired shape.  Many people grow the Pomegranate not for the fruit, but simply for its ornamental appeal.  You’ll love how the glossy dark green color of the oval leaves catch the midday sun.  The leaves fill out the Pomegranate’s dense rounded shape, lending it an appealing silhouette that would enhance almost any location in your yard.  Spring and fall are special times for your Pomegranate.  In the spring the leaves emerge with an uncommon splash of bronze.  An abundance of dainty flowers follow, their rare blending of oranges and reds reminiscent of a summer sunset. You’ll be pleased to find that the flowers are hardier than many spring blooms, prolonging your enjoyment into the summer months and encouraging the hummingbirds who love them.  Fall brings even more appeal, as yellow leaves and a harvest of the 4-inch, round red fruit proclaim a successful conclusion to the season. Pomegranates have been cultivated since ancient times, and the fruit is increasingly popular for its health benefits.  The juice is chocked full of vitamins, antioxidants and other health advantages.  The crimson fruit around each seed has a unique tart-sweet flavor and is popular eaten whole or used as a juice or syrup.  Once you’ve tasted a Pomegranate from your very own tree, you’ll never want to be without one again. * Ornamental * Outstanding fruit* Hardy

Pomegranate - Sweet - DetailsPomegranate - Sweet - Sale Price: $149.94
Pomegranates are ultra-healthy, delicious, in high demand — and expensive. Why not grow your own? A Sweet Pomegranate tree will give you lovely orange-red flowers in spring and loads of heavenly rich-tart pink fruits in early fall, all without taking up much space at all. The ‘Sweet’ pomegranate is a rounded, arching deciduous shrub or small tree and is self-fruitful, long-lived and very productive. Pomegranates should be planted in the sunniest, warmest part of the yard or orchard for the best fruit. It does best in well-drained ordinary soil, but also thrives in calcareous or acidic loam, gravelly soil or even a large pot. Use the luscious fruit to make juice, grenadine syrup, ice cream, yogurt or mix with cherries for amazing preserves. Pomegranate juice has more than double the antioxidants of grape juice and green tea and is said to reduce atherosclerosis. This is an eye-catching ornamental that will contribute to your good health! Orange/Red Flowers!
