Viburnum - Spring Green Compact Cranberrybush - Sale Price: $92.75 The Spring Green Compact Cranberrybush Viburnum, Viburnum trilobum 'Spring Green', has an outstanding compact form that can be easily maintained to 4 feet in height. Spring Green’s foliage emerges reddish and ages to a glossy dark green.  The white flowers are very attractive, and somewhat fragrant. It produces orange fruit, which persists into winter, and then displays a stunning red fall color.  'Spring Green' does best in moist, well-drained, loamy soils, but will tolerate less than ideal conditions and heavier clay soils. Pruning allows this shrub to maintain its natural shape while encouraging the development of new wood. It does not tolerate prolonged drought or dense shade.  It makes an excellent low hedge or specimen plant.  It is less formal than other compact selections. Viburnums provide seasonal interest with flowers, colorful fruits, fall color, stem and bark color, texture, and form.  There is always space for a Spring Green viburnum in any landscape, and it will look terrific in yours as well.

Adams Needle - Sale Price: $92.75 The Adams Needle bush, Yucca filamentosa, has stiff evergreen rosettes and are part of the scene in hot dry Central and North American scrublands. Yuccas are hardier than they appear, and only fail in cold exposed inland positions, where they are better grown as container plants. Otherwise they are handsome architectural foliage plants for dry, sunny borders. This variety has a white edge. Yucca filamentosa makes dense clumps of stiff leaves 30 inches or so long and edged with fine curly hairs. The remarkable flower-spikes, 6' or more high, appear when plants are five or more years old.

Rose of Sharon - Lucy - Sale Price: $49.95 The Lucy Rose of Sharon, Hibiscus syriacus Lucy, is an upright, deciduous shrub that is a vigorous, erect, multi-stemmed shrub that typically grows 8-12' tall. This shrub may also be trained as a single trunk tree or espalier. Leaves are diamond-shaped, dark green, slightly palmate and toothed. 'Lucy' bears double red-pink flowers from late summer until mid-fall. This plant really requires no pruning, unless you need to remove a dead or damaged branch. It has a long, early summer to fall bloom period. This cultivar is a sterile triploid that produces very few if any seed pods. It is an excellent flowering shrub that may be massed, planted in groups, or used as a specimen. The plant is very tolerant of summer heat and humidity. Larger flowers may be obtained by pruning back hard to 2-3 buds in early spring. Otherwise, prune to shape.

'Carissa' grows best in rich, well-drained, slightly acid soil, and does well in full sun or part shade. The plant is very drought tolerant, requiring little, if any, irrigation once established in the landscape. Fertilize once or twice to maintain good leaf color and adequate growth. This plant is often used on commercial landscape jobs where it is planted in mass in traffic islands, or planted in beds. If this plant is used as a hedge, prune the plant so it is wider at the bottom than at the top. This allows for light to get in to the bottom foliage and this will help keep the leaves from thinning. The Carissa prefers a pH of 5.0 to 6.5. Zones 6-9.
