Spiraea - Tor - Sale Price: $51.35 The Spirea 'Tor', Spiraea betuliflia 'Tor', is a compact spirea reaching a height and width of 2-3 ft. Its tiny white flower clusters are set against a backdrop of deep green leaves that are almost iridescent in the summer. The bright foliage turns a deep, purplish-red in the fall. The flowers are attractive to butterflies. A light shearing will encourage repeat bloom.  Tor blooms on new wood so pruning in early spring or late winter is recommended. Because of its small size and great attributes, Tor makes a wonderful foundation plant.  It can also be used as a specimen or grouped for rock gardens.  This spirea looks fabulous when planted in a mass!  Try using it as a low hedge for paths and walkways too. They open to single, bright pink blooms, with a spicy fragrance, in late spring. Tinkerbelle lilac is an excellent choice for foundation plantings or as a specimen. This lilac tolerates light shade, but best bloom quality and disease resistance occur in full sun. It prefers rich, moist, neutral soils. It should be pruned as needed immediately after flowering. This upright lilac forms a wonderful small tree, with rosy-lilac buds that are wonderfully fragrant. It grows 5-6 feet in height and 4-5 feet in width. Holly - Jim Dandy - Sale Price: $42.75 The Holly Jim Dandy, Ilex verticillata 'Jim Dandy', is a hardy shrub and is considered to be much hardier than others Ilex varieties. It is adaptable to different soil conditions, and is even drought tolerant once established. The Jim Dandy produces showy, deep green leaves. Although technically an evergreen shrub, the Jim Dandy does loose a majority of its leaves in cooler zones. Dogwood - Grey Twig - Sale Price: $57.05 The Gray Dogwood, 'Cornus racemosa', is a deciduous shrub which typically occurs in moist or rocky ground along streams, ponds, wet meadows, glade and prairie margins, thickets and rocky bluffs. It grows 10-15' tall and features white flowers borne in terminal racemes (hence the species name of racemosa) in late spring and grayish-green, elliptic to lance-shaped leaves (2-4 long). The foliage turns an interesting dusky purplish red in fall. Terminal stems holding the flowers are distinctively red and provide interesting contrast to the clusters of small white berries which form after the flowers have dropped. The red stem color is more easily seen after the fruits are gone, and red color often persists into early winter.
