Hemerocallis Primal Scream, Hemerocallis 'Primal Scream', will steal the show and stand out no matter where it is planted! The Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’, 'Brunnera macrophylla' PP13859, has frosty silver leaves that offer a brilliant backdrop to the small clusters of bright blue flowers that appear in earliest spring. The Coreopsis 'Route 66', Coreopsis verticillata 'Route 66', was discovered in 2005 by Patti Bauer. This new threadleaf coreopsis bears big, bold yellow flowers with a rich ring of burgundy around the crown that bleeds out to the tips of each petal. The narrow, deep-green foliage forms vigorous, uniform clumps. It is easily grown in dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. 'Route 66' performs well in poor, sandy or rocky soils with good drainage; tolerant of heat, humidity and drought. It is effective in borders, naturalized areas, wild gardens, or cottage gardens.  Cut back in late summer to encourage regrowth and rebloom. It over winterizes well and is reliable in harsh climates.  It comes back vigorously each year.  Coreopsis is one of the easiest perennials to maintain and is a good choice for beginners. Periwinkle, Vinca minor, is also known as Trailing Myrtle, Dwarf Periwinkle and Creeping Myrtle. This species of Periwinkle is one of the most popular and widely used ground covers. Trailing stems with smooth, evergreen leaves (to 1.5 long) root at the nodes as they go along the ground and quickly spread to form an attractive ground cover. Tubular, lavender blue, phlox-like flowers (to 1 inch across) appear in the leaf axils in spring and continue to flower intermittently throughout summer into fall. Foliage will mound up to 6 tall. Periwinkles are used as a versatile ground cover and provide good cover for bulb beds. Effective on slopes or banks to stabilize soils and prevent erosion. Easily grown in average, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It tolerates full shade, but it prefers moist, humusy soils in part shade. Plant 12-18 apart to cover large areas. This evergreen perennial is similar in all ways to Vinca Major except the flower is a little smaller.
