Daylily - Cherry Candy
Daylily - Cherry Candy Hemerocallis Cherry Candy, Hemerocallis 'Cherry Candy', is an extended bloomer, so its flowers will remain open for at least 16 hours apiece! The lightly scented, 4¼ bloom of ‘Cherry Candy’ opens flat to show off its prominent bright red eye. The rounded overlapping petals are a light golden orange and are lined with a very fine red edging. The flowers appear on strong, well-branched scapes; can produce up to 30 buds per scape! Use this daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds. Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion; attracts butterflies. ‘Cherry Candy’ also makes a beautiful floral arrangement. Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline. Planted together in large numbers, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful ground cover. Daylilies grow best when planted in full sun to partial shade. In areas that receive less than 6 hours of sun during the day, your daylilies will probably produce fewer and smaller blooms, and the foliage may not be as robust. Because it is a highly performing daylily with gorgeous color and a long blooming habit, ‘Cherry Candy’ is a pleasure to have in any garden! * Long blooming * Hardy * Carefree
