Clematis - Mayleen
Clematis Mayleen, Clematis Montana 'Mayleen', is a charming beauty that displays small satin pink flowers in early summer. These satin pink blooms with gold stamens, have a rich vanilla perfume - strongest scented of the C. Montana’s.  This clematis is the earliest to bloom, with the buds coming from the previous season's stems. It is a deciduous climber, with dark green, bronze-flushed leaves.   It is a vigorous growing cultivar, but not as cold hardy as large flowering hybrids. Clematis Montana 'Mayleen' needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Groom this plant after first flowering by cutting back the top one-third to one-half of some stems. Clematis ‘Mayleen’ is a very reliable performer once established; it takes a season or two to get going! ‘Mayleen’ has attractive foliage that creates an all season appeal for that special place in your garden! * Fragrant * Satin pink flowers * Vigorous

Hosta - First Frost - DetailsHosta - First Frost - Sale Price: $12.99
The Hosta First Frost, Hosta 'First Frost', is a handsome sport of ‘Halcyon’ and begins in spring with deep blue leaves with a gold colored edging.  This edging is irregular and just about half an inch wide.  Then 'First Frost' evolves to a pure white in summer. The light lavender flowers appear on 28 inch scapes in midsummer.  ‘First Frost’ is resistant to pests and puts on a colorful display in your garden all season long.  It maintains its outstanding blue color and beautiful edging until the “first frost” in the fall; named a Designer Hosta™ and 2010 Hosta of the Year! Since the foliage spreads 3 feet wide, ‘First Frost’ is a fine size for groundcover, edging, or specimen use. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions.  'First Frost' grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth.  Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas! 'First Frost' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well in containers. This handsome hosta will add fall color to a garden since its leaves retain their color until the first frost! * Staying power * Blue to white leaves * Low maintenance
