Gaillardia - Arizona Sun - Sale Price: $42.75 The Blanket Flower, Arizona Sun, Gaillardia 'Arizona Sun', is extremely eye catching in any perennial garden.  From the early summer on, very showy banded flowers blanket this plant; ends of the petals have a torn, ruffled appearance The beautiful bright red petals are tipped in gold and surround the orange and yellow central cone! ‘Arizona Sun’ will flower from June through autumn, and this gaillardia thrives in hot sunny sites and need well drained soil.  It forms a neat mound of lance-shaped, grayish-green leaves. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid this particular Gaillardia, but near the end of the season, leave spent flower heads for seed to attract goldfinches! Hosta - Key West - Sale Price: $42.75 Hosta Key West, Hosta 'Key West', is a member of the 'Americana Series'.  This very large, fast growing Hosta is a cross between Hosta 'Elatior' and 'High Noon'. Lavender flowers are formed in early summer.  Hosta 'Key West' is a lovely plant with its smooth heart shaped leaves and pleasing gold color.  The bright gold, heart-shaped leaves are very large and form a clump of foliage that when mature, will reach over 6' across! 'Key West', is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Plant 'Key West', in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves. Veronica - Georgia Blue - Sale Price: $56.95 The Veronica Speedwell, Georgia Blue, 'Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue', is a spreading plant growing to 8 inches tall with spires of tiny, round, blue flowers in late April-May. This evergreen perennial blooms very early in the spring. It may rebloom throughout the summer. The foliage is reddish-green in spring turning to deep green in summer and finally turning bronze in fall. This spreading plant works well under small perennials and in borders, containers, rock gardens and as a groundcover. The flowers are attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. This plant is also salt tolerant so a seaside location would be fine. To keep tidy plants, shear back by 1/2 after flowering. If not cut back in summer, prune down to basal growth in late autumn. Scabiosa - Pink Mist - Sale Price: $24.95 The Scabiosa 'Pink Mist', Scabiosa columbaria, (PP 8957) also known as the Pincushion Flower, has wonderful 2 pink flowers that bloom from June to October. 'Pink Mist' is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its gray-green foliage, it has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18, not to mention being disease resistant. It is best to plant Pink Mist Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout the warmer months to increase its overall performance. Deadheading after the first bloom will encourage repeat bloom time. 'Pink Mist' is great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds and does excellent in rock gardens.
